Burgoo

Lunch at Burgoo‘s West 10th location. To be honest I’ve never understood the hype surrounding this place. I’ve been here a couple of times over the years and was never too impressed but I needed a local lunch spot to meet a friend. Ordered the soup and salad combo. Crab Bisque was advertised as a “smooth crab and red pepper cream bisque scented with tarragon and finished with parsley”. I’m pretty sure they used cilantro instead of parsley, which was fine because I thought it worked with the sweetness from the red pepper. Nice amount of crab for the price. It didn’t really feel like a bisque because I didn’t get much seafood flavour and it wasn’t that creamy, but I was still content with my soup. Also ordered the Grains and Greens salad, this was nice, simple, nothing special but nevertheless satisfying if you feel like a salad.
